Mrs. Mary Ida Taylor age 75, of Brodhead passed away on Monday February 22, 2021 at her home after a long illness. She was born on January 23, 1946 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late George C. and Ora Robinson York. She was a retired farm service agent, worked at Mt.Vernon City Hall for many years, enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are: her husband; William Taylor of Brodhead. Two sons; Mark Allen McClure and (Vicki), and Danny Ray McClure both of Brodhead. One brother; Albert York of Mt.Vernon. Four sisters; Viola York Robinson of Brodhead, Joanna York Smith of Crab Orchard, Lucy Payne and (Rick) of Brodhead, and Liza Jane York Hansel and (Chris) of Mt.Vernon. Four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and eight step-great grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: Three brothers; Leroy York, John Henry York, and George Christopher York.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ida Taylor will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday February 26, 2021 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Jake Harding officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and funeral home capacity will be limited to 50%.
