Obituary

Mrs. Mary Louise Hayes age 83, of Mt.Vernon passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born on October 11, 1939 in Christian County, KY the daughter of the late Dewey and Freda Bosel Monk. She was retired from the Dresser Company in Berea, she enjoyed fishing, taking walks, loved her grandchildren & great grandchildren, and was a member of the Buckeye Christian Church.

            Survivors are: one son; Clay Stanton Hayes and wife (Glena) of Conway. Two daughters; Carol Alcorn and husband (Sam), and Betty Weaver and husband (Steve) all of Mt.Vernon. One sister; Sue Prestholt of Clear Lake, Iowa. 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband; Norman Hayes, and by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.  

            Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Louise Hayes will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday February 7, 2023 at the Maret Cemetery with Bro. Shanon Franklin officiating.
