Joe Deatherage Obituary

Mr. Joe Deatherage age 62, of Mt.Vernon passed away on Monday April 26, 2021 at the U.K. Hospital in Lexington. He was born on November 11, 1958 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Arlis and Clotine Hansel Deatherage. He retired from the Lehigh High Hanson Company, enjoyed helping others, playing horse shoes, hunting, spending time with family and friends, and was a member of the Christian faith.  

            Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Phyllis Bishop Deatherage of Mt.Vernon. One son; Lee Deatherage and wife (Ashely) of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Coman Deatherage and wife (Juanita) of Mt.Vernon. Four grandchildren; Aaron, Hayden, Ava Rose, and Anabella. Many nieces & nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by: one son; Joel Deatherage, by one brother; Paul Gene Deatherage, and by one infant daughter.   

            Funeral services for Mr. Joe Deatherage will be conducted 2 PM Friday April 30, 2021 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Zandell Hasty and Bro. Ova Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hansel Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and funeral home capacity will be limited to 60%.
