Mr. Eddie Mahaffey age 75, of Mt.Vernon passed away on Tuesday September 29, 2020 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond after a long illness. He was born on October 31, 1944 in Berea, KY the son of the late Jesse and Ruby Ponder Mahaffey. He enjoyed fishing, storytelling, U.K. Basket Ball, telling jokes, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Donna Burton Mahaffey of Mt.Vernon. Four sons; Dwight, Dwayne, Tony, and Jessie Mahaffey. Three sisters; Rita Mize, Peggy Hurley, and Carol Kunkel. Seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Mahaffey will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday October 2, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Offutt officiating. Burial will follow at the Bails Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 AM until time of service on Friday. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home. In order to protect those attending the service, we respectfully ask those in attendance to maintain social distancing and wear a face mask.
