David Watson Henderson

Mr. David Watson Henderson, 84, passed away at his home on October 18, 2021.  He was born on January 9, 1937, the son of the late Dr. John D. Henderson and C. Beatrice Watson Henderson. David was a member of First Christian Church of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky where he served as a deacon for several years.  He was a retired realtor with Ford Brothers Realty of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.  David loved his church, his family, his friends, and basketball.  He was a quiet, gentle man - always positive and upbeat, always ready to encourage and help anyone struggling with life’s difficulties.  He was a deeply loyal, loving, supportive husband, father and Papaw.

            David is survived by his wife, Betty Abney Henderson;  a daughter, Stacy Lynn Gentry; a daughter-in-law Lori Walters Henderson;  four grandsons, Lucas David Gentry of Mt. Vernon; Levi Tucker Gentry of Berea, Kentucky; Landon Christian Gentry of Mt. Vernon and Neal Scott Henderson of Lexington, Kentucky, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Scott Henderson; two brothers, Dr. Joe Henderson of Mt. Vernon and Dr. Jack Henderson of Berea, Kentucky; a sister, Francis Henderson Pennington of Winchester, Kentucky; a nephew, Bill Henderson of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; a niece, Lida Henderson Evans of Lexington, Kentucky and a sister-in-law, Joyce Ritchie Henderson of Berea, Kentucky.

            Funeral services for Mr. David Watson Henderson will be conducted at 12 Noon on Thursday October 21, 2021 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Ross officiating. Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where  friends may visit from 10 AM until service time on Thursday.
