Avery Wilson Obituary

Avery E. Wilson 85 of Richmond died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Reid Health.  He was born April 29, 1935, in Brodhead, Kentucky to Felix and Rosa Lee Johnston Wilson Sr. and lived here since 1954. He retired from the Laborers and Hod-carriers Union Local 1047 and followed the Pentecost Faith.

Avery is survived by his wife of 41 years Ruby. He is also survived by two daughters Regenia (Kenneth) Lairson of Vandalia, Ohio, and Rhonda (Roger) Robinson of Orlando, Kentucky, five grandchildren Angelina (Rusty) Breitenbach, Kyle Robinson, April Mays, Kassie Barnett, and Andrea (Cameron) Bryson, eleven great-grandchildren Nathan, Fiona, James, Oliver, Connor, Lucas, Waylon, Chloe, Jaxson, Ava, and Sean, nieces, and nephews, his sidekick Eddie Hampton and his two daughters Brandi and LeAnn.

Preceding Avery in death is his Son Roger Eugene Wilson, his parents, and six brothers and sisters Omar, Willie, Odes, Felix Jr., Thelma, and Jewell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Cox Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky with Rev. John Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Negro Creek Cemetery in Brodhead, Kentucky. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral home in Richmond and 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Cox Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Gideons International PO Box 1092 Richmond, Indiana 47375.             Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and 50% capacity will be limited at the funeral home.
