Mr. Russell Jack Bishop age 77, of Wildie, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Baptist Health Hospital Lexington. He was born on June 30, 1941 in Wildie, Ky., the son of the late Luther and Sallie Dalton Bishop. He was retired from the Army, a former Police Chief, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel, was a missionary servant of Jesus Christ, and was a member of the Scaffold Cane Baptist Church.
Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Rita Estes Bishop. One son; Russell Jack Bishop Jr. and (Kara). One daughter; Susan Warton. Four brothers; Shirley, Glen, Bobby, and Ronnie Bishop. One sister; Christine Marchione. 18 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, and nieces & nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by: one daughter; Michelle Bishop, by one brother; Jimmie Bishop, and by four sisters; Nannie Crews, Jean Moore, Helen Carmack Renner, and Pauline Ramsey.
Funeral services for Mr. Russell Jack Bishop will be conducted 2 PM Friday August 24, 2018 at the Scaffold Cane Baptist Church with Bro. James Hardin & Bro. Homer Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the Church from 11AM until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family asked donations are to go the the Shriners Hospital.
