Rev. Tom R. Coffey

Rev. Tom R. Coffey, age 60 years, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

Tom retired as manager of the LaRue County Water District after 24 years of service. He pastored four churches in LaRue, Green, and Taylor counties; Corinth, Allendale, Bethel, and Mt. Carmel Baptist Churches. He was currently serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Buffalo Baptist Church. Tom was a faithful Christian witness and served as a source of strength and encouragement to many. He trusted in the Lord at age 12 and now is at Home with his Savior.

He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Donna Duncan Coffey, his children, Staci (Kris) Riggs of Magnolia, Traci (Steve) Weaver of Buffalo, and Ryan (Holly) Coffey of London, KY. He was the loving Papa to Layla and Bridgett Weaver, Ty Coffey, and Austin and Matthew Riggs. Also surviving are his parents, Willis and Ada Coffey of Mt. Vernon, and his brothers, Keith (Susan) Coffey, Steve Coffey, and Willis G. (Kim) Coffey all of Mt. Vernon.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Buffalo Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Burdette, Rev. Roger Pepper, Rev. DeWayne Gibson, and Rev. Bob Boster officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday at the Cox Funeral Home, 80 Maple Dr. Mt. Vernon, KY, 3-8 PM Thursday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 9:30 AM Friday at the church until time for services.
