Rena Boone

Mrs. Rena Boone age 83, of Mt.Vernon passed away Wednesday May 23, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 20, 1934 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Vance McClure. She was a housewife, enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, and singing, and was a member of the Blue Springs Church of Christ.

            Survivors are: one son; Brent Boone of Mt.Vernon. Two sisters; Christine Kirby, and Wilma Renner both of Mt.Vernon. Four precious grandchildren; Marcella Lovell and (Billy), Suella Birney and (Richard), Becky Mays and (Scott), and Daniel Boone and (Tara), by six great grandsons; J.T, Brent, and Logan Lovell, Zack Napier, Hunter Birney, and Clifton Boone, and by; three great great grandchildren; Jase Napier, and Adisynne and Caden Lovell also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; J.T. Boone, by three brothers; William, Howard, and Floyd McClure, and by four sisters; Liza Smith, Laura Cromer, Jonette Phelps, and Marie Doan.

            Funeral services for Mrs. Rena Boone will be conducted 11 AM Friday May 25, 2018 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Marcus Reppert officiating. Burial will follow in the Phelps Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday.
