Odie Potts

Mrs. Odie Potts age 94, of Mt.Vernon and formerly of Harlan, Ky. passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. She was born on March 19, 1924 in Elk Valley, TN the daughter of the late William Colonel and Ella Owens Broyles. She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, singing hymns, spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

            Survivors are: one daughter; Mrs. Katherine White of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Franklin D. Broyles of Donaldsville, OH. Six grandchildren, Eleven Great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews also survive. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by: her husband James Willard Potts, by one son; James “Butch” Potts, by two brothers; Bill, and John Broyles, and by two sisters; Opal Bales, and Ruby Estes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Odie Potts will be conducted 4 PM Friday October 19, 2018 at the Central Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at Evarts Memorial Garden in Evarts, KY.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the Church from 2 PM until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers; Donations are suggested to: The Central Baptist Church School.
