Mrs. Lola Mae Robinson Cox age 97, of Mt.Vernon passed away Friday May 31, 2019. She was born on November 22, 1921 in Jackson County, Ky. the daughter of the late Jack and Maggie Hurley Robinson. She was a retired seamstress, enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking, and was a member of the Christian faith.
Survivors are: four daughters; Lillian Frazier and (Rodney) of Mt.Vernon, Carolyn Sims of Nicholasville, Jeanine Blake of Wilmore, and Johnnie Shields of Lexington. Four grandchildren; Mike Roberts, Joseph Sims, Kevin Blake, and Jared Shields, seven great grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband of 69 years; John Cox, by three sisters; Dorthy, Laura, and Addie, by three brothers; Bert, Ernest, and Farris, and by one grandson; John Sims.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Mae Robinson Cox will be conducted 1 PM Monday June 3, 2019 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:30 AM until time of service on Monday.
