Glenna Baker Obituary

Mrs. Glenna Mae Carter Baker age 89, of Mt.Vernon, passed away Monday May 14, 2018 at the Berea Health & Rehab Center. She was born on August 16, 1928 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Charles and Suda Mae Riddle Carter. She was a retired Customer Service Representative for the Parsons Gas Company, was Valedictorian of her class, enjoyed cooking, watching Andy Griffith, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.

            Survivors are: one son; Jimmy Baker and (Crystal) of Mt.Vernon. Two daughters; Linda Proctor, and Pam Lunsford and (Harold) all of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Kenneth Carter of Mt.Vernon. One sister; Irene Anderkin of Mansfield, OH. Nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; Byron Baker, by four brothers, by three sisters, and by one granddaughter; Regina Morgan.

            Funeral services for Mrs. Glenna Mae Carter Baker will be conducted 1 PM Thursday May 17, 2018 at the Bible Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Lunsford, Bro. Travis Gilbert, and Bro. Jeremy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Riddle Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the Church from 6 to 9 PM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimers's Association.
