Mr. Floyd Nevil Bullock of Mt. Vernon, KY passed away Sunday, October 20th at his home. He was 85.
He was born to Swanee and Rosa Price Bullock on January 29, 1934, the seventh of eleven children. As a young man, he served in the army from which was honorably discharged. Upon his release from the service, he obtained his barber license and worked as a barber for over fifty years. He was a member of the Blue Springs Church of Christ, which he attended every Sunday, weather and health permitting. He enjoyed working around on the farm, crossword puzzles and a good cup of coffee.
He is survived by three children, Kimberly Bullock, Michael (Gail) Bullock and Chris Bullock, all of Mt. Vernon, four grandchildren, Timothy Bullock of Mt. Vernon, Heather Gibson, Dustin (Randon)Bullock and Erica (Michael) Blanton all of Richmond, KY and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Bentley (Joyce) Bullock of Cincinnati, OH and Bobby (Theta) Bullock of Keavy, KY, one very special niece Teresa (Dennis) Welles of Somerset and by many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by, six sisters, Geneva Harper, Georgia Chaney, Helen Bullock, Anna Bullock, Betty Owens and Malvina Wethington and two brothers Ernest and Howard Bullock.
Cox Funeral Home is honoring his final wish to be cremated. His final resting place will be in the Ping Family Cemetery in Pulaski County. No graveside service will be conducted. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
