DUNCAN, EDITH "IRENE" (YORK) Age 88 passed away July 2, 2019. Irene was born May 15, 1931 in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of John Tom and Ida May (Brock) York. She was raised by her great aunt Margaret Sims Mullins and family after the death of her mother in 1934. Irene met Harold Duncan at church, and they married on September 4, 1948 in Richmond, Indiana. They were blessed to spend over 60 years together. Irene came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 1965. When she lived in Oxford, Ohio she was an active member of the Darrtown Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved gospel music, traveling, playing card games and spending time with family. Irene was a very generous person, helping those in need. Irene was loved by many. Special mention of love and appreciation to Debra Duncan, her devoted daughter and caregiver for many years. Also, our family will always be grateful for the wonderful care mom received from the Blue Ash, Bella Care Hospice Team and Otterbein Senior Life staff. She is survived by her children: Ruby Darlene (Robert) Baker of Oxford, Ohio; Kathleen (Allan) Tucker of Amelia, Ohio; Debra Duncan of Amelia, Ohio; Denise (Tommy) Miles of Owenton, Kentucky: five grandchildren Bobby Baker, Jody Houck, Kristy Bunch, Ryan and Kayla Miles; four great grandchildren Craig, Connor, and Chance Bunch, and Ava Houck.
