Donald Barnes

Mr. Donald Barnes age 76, of Mt.Vernon, passed away Friday January 5, 2018 at the Madison Health & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Ky. He was born on June 7, 1941 in Mt.Vernon the son of the late James William and Hazel Bessie Childress Barnes. He retired from the Bluegrass Ordinance in Richmond, a U.S. Army Veteran, enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, was an active member of the V.F.W, loved his kids and family, and dogs, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

            Survivors are: one son; Donnie Barnes and wife Elisha of Mt.Vernon. One daughter; Rhonda Durham of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Ronald Barnes of Mt.Vernon also survives. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by: one brother; Kenneth Barnes, by two sisters; Betty Gregory, and Mary Delaney, and by one grandchild; Joshua Durham.

            Funeral services for Mr. Donald Barnes will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday January 9, 2018 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Rice Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 1 PM until service time on Tuesday.
