Cecil Hampton Obituary

Mr. Cecil Hampton went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 16, 2018. He was born August 1, 1936 in Brodhead, Ky. the son of the late Pearl and Bertha Reynolds Hampton. He was the middle child of five brothers, and five sisters. He worked at Fox Paper Company in Lockland, Oh. for 38 years, he was on the Lockland City Council for 15 years, he loved his Lord and the Churches he was a member of which included Faith Community Church in Arlington, Oh, and First Baptist Church and Sunday School Class in Mt.Vernon, he was always faithful & busy about the Lords work, he was interested in everything political, and took care of his rental property for years. 25 years ago he and his wife Ann came back home to Rockcastle County. He had many friends, especially at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. For the last six months he an Ann have lived in Colorado Springs, Co. with daughter Judy and son-in-law Roger because of health issues where  daughter Georgina and Tom have helped with his many health needs. Son Tim and Karen have been faithful in prayer for the family needs from afar and God has always been faithful. Before he became paralyzed five years ago his hobby was working in the little park on Lake Linville, Renfro Valley that he and Ann planted and developed in front of their home on the lake.

            Survivors are: his wife whom he united in marriage on June 13, 1953; Mrs. Ann Ernestine Clark Hampton and from this union three children; Georgina Schmits and Tom, Judy Ann Jeter and Roger all of Colorado Springs, Co, and Timothy Lawrence Hampton (Karen Case).  Albert Hampton (Lois Kincer) of Florence, Ky., Pearl Hampton Jr. (Sally) of Arlington Heights, Oh., Sue Hampton Warfield of Lockland, Oh., Lillian Vaughn of Arlington Heights, Oh., Martha Miniard of Loveland, Oh., and Verna Deboard.  of Brodhead, Ky. Seven grandchildren; Steven and Beth Schmits, Lori Lusk, Patrick Jeter, and Luke, Andy, and Joshua Hampton, and five great grandchildren; Clara, Anna, Cecilia, Issac Lusk, and Eli Jeter

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by: three brothers; Walter, Charles, and Earl Hampton, by one sister; Marg Bradley, by three nephews; Roger and Gary Hampton, and Pearl Bradley, and by five brother-in-laws; Larry Warfield, Jim Bradley, Ed Miniard, Ottis Deboard, and Harold Vaughn.        

            Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Hampton will be conducted 11:30 AM Monday January 22, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Mt.Vernon. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the Church from 10 AM until service time on Monday.
