Willetta Owens

Mrs. Willetta Owens age 95, of Mt.Vernon passed away on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at the Rockcastle Health & Rehab. in Brodhead after a long illness. She was born on October 22, 1927 in Pine Hill, KY the daughter of the late Rev. Luther and Gracie Jones Kirby, She was a housewife, enjoyed quilting, fishing, keeping family records, and was a member of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

            Survivors are: two sons; Clyde Ronald Owens, and David Wendell Owens. One daughter; Phyllis Parrett, and one brother; Billy Joe Kirby. 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Clyde B. Owens, by one daughter; Carol Wise, and by 2 grandchildren. 

            Funeral services for Mrs. Willetta Owens will be conducted 2 PM Friday October 6, 2023 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Lovell Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11 AM until time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to charity of your choice.
