Tafton Carpenter

Mr. Tafton Carpenter age 102, of Mt.Vernon passed away Friday July 7, 2017 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea. He was born on May 8, 1915 in Rockcastle County         the son of the late Toby and Jane Rash Carpenter. He was a farmer, enjoyed fishing, singing in church, playing guitar, and was a member of the Crab Orchard Pentecostal Church.

            Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Sally Bustle Carpenter of Mt.Vernon. Two sons; Marvin Dean Carpenter of Orlando, and Edgar Arvil Carpenter of Brodhead. Three step-sons; Cecil Gray Jr. of Mt.Vernon, James Gray of Springdale, Oh, and Brian Gray of Fairfield, OH. One step-daughter; Judy Pottenger of Hamilton, Oh. Three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren also survive.

            Funeral services for Mr. Tafton Carpenter will be conducted at 11AM on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Don King, Bro. Lonnie McGuire, and Bro. Virgil Bustle officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery.

            Arrangements are by the Cox Funeral Home where friends may visit after 10 AM on Tuesday.
