Emmett "Shot" Mize

Mr. Emmett "Shot" Mize age 90, of Reading , Ohio died Monday October 21, 2002 at the Cottingham Nursing Home in Sharonville, Ohio. He was born on November 17, 1911 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Hamp and Alice Jones Mize. He was retired from National Distilleries, and Reading Motor Company, and was a veteran of WWII.

Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Alma Sears Mize of Reading, Ohio. One daughter; Mrs. Pearl Thomas Spurlock, and husband Ray of Lebanon, Ohio. Two step-sons; Bobby McKenzie, and wife Beverly of West Chester, Ohio, and Glenn McKenzie and wife Jean of Mainville, Ohio. One brother; Shelby "Bill" Mize, and wife Rebecca of Mt.Vernon. Two nieces; Tanya Robbins, and Barbara Burkett. Five nephews; Albert Hibbard, Calvin, Conley, Danny, and David Mize. Fourteen great nieces, and nine great nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by: two brothers; Lonzo "Jay" Mize, and Howard Reese Mize. One sister; Lucy Mize Hibbard, and by two nephews; Melvin Hibbard, and Earl Denver Mize.
